Throughout history Frankincense has been used by numerous cultures and religions – in Ancient Egypt FRANKINCENSE was worth more than its weight in gold. Thankfully, it is somewhat more accessible today! Frankincense is believed to elevate the mind and expand spiritual consciousness, making it perfect for meditation. It also mixes well with other resins, in particular deep, balsamic Myrrh. The aroma of Frankincense is clean and lemony, with a distinct fresh scent.
 
OMANI FRANKINCENSE from the Boswellia Sacra tree is typically regarded as the finest quality Frankincense resin, and we source our beautiful Hojari Frankincense resin direct from Oman. In Oman, Frankincense is usually classified into four types, with resins of lighter colour and larger clump sizes generally graded higher and more valuable. The four grades are based on the four geographic locations in Dhofar from where the trees are grown and the resin harvested: ‘Hojari’ is the highest grade, followed by ‘Najdi’, ‘Shathari’ and ‘Shaabi’, the lowest grade. We only stock the very finest Hojari grade.
 
HOJARI GRADE FRANKINCENSE
The finest quality (first grade) Omani Frankincense is harvested from the trees that grow in the Eastern part of Dhofar. Hojari Frankincense has the lightest colour of the Omani resins, often with a slight pale green tint, and it typically has a larger clump size.
 
The scent is the most luscious Frankincense we have ever experienced – if you are looking for the finest resin, this is the best quality Frankincense we have ever sourced.
