The words FRANKINCENSE and MYRRH are almost synonymous as the two natural resins have been used alongside each other for millennia. Our Frankincense & Myrrh Resin Blend is a mixture of roughly half and half pure Frankincense resin and pure Myrrh resin.

FRANKINCENSE is an oleoresin from Boswellia carterii and Boswellia thurifera trees, originating from the Middle East and Somalia. In Ancient Egypt Frankincense was worth more than its weight in gold – it is somewhat more accessible now! The aroma is spicy and lemony, thought to elevate the mind and expand spiritual consciousness, perfect for meditation. Frankincense mixes well with other resins, in particular Myrrh.

MYRRH is the oleoresin of the Commiphora myrrha shrub, known to be used as incense for more than 3500 years, and was the basis of many early perfumes. The aroma is spicy and delicate, with a balsamic undertone, and is considered to be profoundly calming and restorative. Myrrh mixes well with Frankincense, which is why the two are often found as a pair.
