COPAL is a white, pale yellow, yellow-orange or grey-black gum resin that produces a rich pine-lemon fragrance – similar to Frankincense, to which it is related. It is native to Mexico and Central America and has been used for centuries for incense in religious or magical ceremonies: the Mayans of Mexico believe that when Copal is burned it turns into otherworldly tortillas that the deities eat.

There are a number of different varieties of Copal available, each with their own subtle differences. This pack includes:
* WHITE COPAL (25g) has a cleaner, crisper scent than cheaper varieties. It typically varies from pale yellow to slightly golden in colour.
* GOLDEN COPAL (25g) has a warm, honey-like colouring. It has a crisp, almost citrus scent that is slightly richer, complex and more spicy than the White variety.
* BLACK COPAL (15g) is a greyish colour, and is often considered the most desirable of the three because of its rich, heavy scent.

* A DOUBLE SIDED CARD with instructions on how to burn resin incense, and hints and tips for getting the most out of resins.

These high quality natural resin incense pieces can be burned for their natural scent, either over a charcoal disk or using a candle warmed censer (burner). Each pack contains small resin pieces and an amount of resin powder. As you only need to use a couple of pieces, or a pinch at a time, each pack will last for many burning sessions.
