Extracted from the leaves of the Bay tree, Bay oil is a recommended treatment for hair loss, greasy hair or flaky scalp. The oil is an excellent antiseptic for the respiratory system. Bay also has a pronounced effect on the digestive system and may be useful as an appetite stimulant or to help settle stomach pain.
The oil may be used for sprains and bruises, and is also stimulating on the mind in small doses, or sedative in large doses – try using in a vaporiser to encourage creativity.
Relatively non-toxic and non-irritant, though best avoided during pregnancy.
