This stunning range of handmade incense combines the idea of incense sticks with ingredients commonly used in smudging, creating beautifully earthy scents perfect for meditation, yoga, rituals or everyday burning.

Each 15g box contains a unique hand-packaged pouch of sticks (approx 10 sticks / pack), tied with string and embellished with a feather. The sticks are created using the traditional ‘masala’ method of combining ground aromatic ingredients into a paste and hand rolling them around an inner bamboo stick (unlike mass-produced sticks that are ‘dipped’ into harsh chemical fragrances).

Copal originates from the Aztec Nahuatil word ‘Copalli’ and refers to the variety of resins extracted from the trees of ther ‘Bursera’ family. Thousands of years ago, Copal was considered a sacred resin by the Mayans and Aztecs of Mexico and Central America. The Mayans would offer Copal to the Gods as one of their most valuable offerings, along with tobacco and cocoa. Copal is still used today in shamanic ceremonies for energy protection, offering, cleansing and purification. It is an excellent incense to make positive changes, and has a rich, sweet ‘piney’ scent that brings peace and harmony.
